The plot is full of supernatural elements as well as science fiction themes. Story In the game, we play the role of an FBI agent who has only recently started her service. He and his partner go to the sleepy town to investigate the disappearance of a young boy. The title state of Virginia is shown in a fictional version, full of subtle supernatural elements and light science fiction threads. The authors do not hide that the main source of inspiration for them were series from the 90s of the last century, especially Twin Peaks . Gameplay Virginia is a narrative adventure game, so its main focus is storytelling rather than puzzles. There is also no need to make moral decisions that would direct the plot into different directions. The authors had one specific story to tell and tried to do it in the most effective way possible. We observe the events from the eyes of the protagonist, but it takes place in a rather unusual way. Developers from the Variable State studio focused on a very cinematic way of narrating, putting special emphasis on the art of editing, which results in many "cinematic" shots. Another solution rarely seen in this genre is the lack of dialogue. Scenes start as soon as the conversation ends, or end before the conversation begins. The plot is therefore conveyed mainly through the images. At the same time, the game gains a strange and disturbing atmosphere, because wherever our character appears, everyone goes silent.

There are many dangers lurking on the Red Planet - from unfavorable weather conditions, through dangerous cosmic radiation, to mysterious enemies who, like clones, are a reminder of the attempts to colonize the fourth planet from the Sun. They can be avoided or fought with firearms.Any contact with a hostile environment leads to a decrease in one of the parameters describing the condition of the clone. There are five of them - health, endurance, hunger, body temperature, and oxygen levels. If the value of any of them drops to zero, it can be fatal.
