GUBI Stemlite Pendant Black Red

Design: Stemlite designed by Bill Curry, 1962 Concept: The idea behind the design for Stemlite was based on a wish from Bill Curry's side, to be able to change the norms for lamp design. He wanted to create a lamp that did not consist of the, at the time, otherwise so traditional base, bulb, shade construction. Curry wanted to create a lamp that combined the three components into an organic, colorful lamp. That desire resulted in the first '' Total look '' lamp, Stemlite . The design draws inspiration from flowers which, with their strong but thin stems, can hold a heavy flowerhead upright. This inspiration can be seen on the metal base which mimics the stem of a tulip. Via the mouth-blown glass globe on top, Stemlite emits a soft and pleasantly diffused light. Stemlite  was Bill Curry's best-selling collection and was also used to present American design in the Soviet Union, Yugoslavia, and Iraq in the 1960s. Stemlite has been brought back to life by GUBI, to reintroduce the world to Bill Curry's amazing work. The Stemlite collection is available as a table lamp, floor lamp, or pendant. GamFratesi, 2020 Concept: The sculptural and breathtaking coffee table Epic from GUBI is designed by the Danish-Italian Duo GamFratesi and draws inspiration from ancient Greek columns and Roman architecture. The table was originally designed in travertine stone, but is here made of steel that has been galvanized, varnished and given a number of surface treatments by hand to give each table a completely unique expression, which is why no two tables are alike. GamFratesi's thinking is that if you place the material as the core of the design, designing a new piece of furniture becomes an intellectual project and a celebration of the material. By giving the special surface treatments, a delicate honesty is maintained in the design that seriously brings the table to life and makes it inhomogeneous in expression. Use the Epic coffee table as the center of the sofa area and bring a simple but extremely nuanced piece of furniture into the relaxed part of the home. Its honest and calm expression gives a pleasant and elegant calm to the surroundings and with its geometric shapes, the table has a nice elegance created in the contrast between the robust foot and the light table top.
