Valkyria Chronicles 4 is the next installment of the series of tactical RPGs Valkyria Chronicles. It is also the first since 2011, when Valkyria Chronicles 3: Unrecorded Chronicles debuted, a full-fledged part of the series. The title was released on PS4, PC, etc.The story told in four was set in the same historical realities as the previous parts. The players go to 1935. The world is torn apart by a great conflict inspired by World War II, in which the forces of the Atlantic Federation and the Autocratic Eastern Imperial Alliance are fighting each other. The scales of victory are tilted towards the other side, so the Federation decides to take the last resort - Operation Northern Cross. Its goal is to seize power in the Imperial capital and end the war. Commander Claude Wallace goes on the mission with his E-Squad, who will have to face many adversities.Valkyria Chronicles 4 mixes an RPG game with turn-based strategy and a third-person shooter. The well-known but improved BLiTZ system watches over the whole thing. The game does not differ much from its predecessors, so the fight is divided into several elements. The basic one is the command mode, in which we operate using the terrain map, from where we can move directly to the battlefield by clicking on the selected unit. Now the gameplay is shown from the TPP perspective. The players control the character, shoot and hide behind covers, but they have a limited number of action points for these activities. After using them, AI takes over the hero.Each of the heroes has unique abilities and has a different use during combat. For example, Kai Schulen is a sniper, Raz is an infantry soldier and Riley Miller is a member of the new Grenadier class. The developers have also given us more options to receive support from the battleship or the Last Stand, i.e. a special, last attack performed just before death. All this is complemented by the largest maps in the history of the cycle.
