Deadbeat Heroes is a dynamic brawler developed by the independent studio Deadbeat Productions. The production was released on the PC and XONE platform by Square Enix, as part of the Square Enix Collective program, under which the Japanese publisher helps indie developers in launching games on the market.
Story
Deadbeat Heroes takes us to an alternative version of London from the 1970s. Superheroes who have so far fought criminals, have died in clashes with more powerful enemies, have retired or are hiding (even the most powerful of them has left the Solar System). A new generation of criminals with supernatural abilities are prowling the streets of the metropolis. The oppressed citizens finally decide to take matters into their own hands and face the bad guys on their own. Fortunately, the lack of innate superpowers is not a problem for them - they receive special gloves from their mentor, thanks to which they can take over the skills of their opponents. Equipped in this way, heroes decide to deal with the threat of The Prime Sinister and his henchmen once and for all.
Gameplay
We observe the action of Deadbeat Heroes from the camera hanging above the heads of the heroes. The core of the game are clashes with opponents, who have been streaked with each of the thirty-five levels that make up the described production. During the struggle, you should watch out not only for adversaries, but also for numerous traps. The duels take place in real time, and during them, as important as combining attacks into spectacular combinations and avoiding opponents' blows (our players can run on walls, for example), is the skillful juggling of powers captured thanks to the above-mentioned gloves. We have ten such abilities at our disposal, including freezing enemies, invisibility and making rocket attacks with a fist, which Superman would not be ashamed of.
