Second Sight is another proposal of Free Radical Design studio, which became famous mainly due to the new generation series TimeSplitters, as well as the hit Goldeneye 007 on Nintendo 64. Contrary to the above-mentioned titles, the action of the described game does not have to be observed all the time from the first perspective people, because the player can switch the preview to the TPP view at any time. Lovers of the TimeSplitters series will probably be interested in the fact that the game uses a very similar model of controlling the main character. Gameplay The player begins the game in a closely guarded medical complex, which conducts unspecified research on humans. The conducted character shows signs of amnesia, because he does not remember anything from the past. The main character, however, discovers that he has been endowed with numerous supernatural abilities. He tries to get out of the complex and discover the secret of his past. It is worth adding that due to the refined controls, the player can simultaneously move the character and use the newly acquired powers.As the game progresses, the controlled character acquires new abilities and develops the existing ones. The power indicator plays an important role here, as it informs you how much energy your character still has to use the acquired abilities. If the allowed value is exceeded, the main character loses orientation for a few seconds, which makes him vulnerable to enemy attacks. The list of available powers includes healing (the main character must then remain motionless), taking over other people's bodies (thanks to this, you can, for example, unlock a seemingly inaccessible door), psychokinetic hit (the character hit is knocked over and loses consciousness for a few seconds), telekinesis (the player can pick up most items and, for example, throw them at enemies), projection (displaying an image of your own character to confuse the enemy), psychokinetic impulse (immobilizes all enemies in the area) and enchanting a given character (the main character becomes invisible for selected people). The team created, among others, Battle Chasers: Nighwar, and its ranks contain the authors of the first two installments of the Darksiders series. The title is an illustrative of the hack'n'slash genre, and was issued by the business that oversees the brand THQ Nordic. In Genesis, the players switch two of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse – War, the protagonist of the first Darksiders, and Strife, the fourth Horseman. In the game, the player will be able to switch between War and Strife, both of whom possess unique weapons and abilities.  The story of the game will take the brothers on a quest to restore the Balance – equilibrium of power between angels and demons – which is threatened by a plot hatch by the demon king Lucifer. The game received optimistic initial reception for challenging, yet fun gameplay, and well-written characters.   Hack&Slash RPG gameplay In Darksiders Genesis, the player controls one of the two Horsemen of the Apocalypse – War and Strife. Each of the protagonists owns a unique control scheme and uses dissimilar weapons. War relies on skewering and slashing his opponents with a sword, while Strife prefers taking them down with his guns. Both brothers can convert into more powerful forms when a special meter is filled. Throughout the game, the player will collect ability cores by defeating enemies. Gathering cores will allow equipping the brothers with special abilities. Other tricks in the Horsemen’s arsenal contain Grapple Hook, which lets them pull up to certain points on the map, and Shadow Flight, with which the brothers can achieve double jumps and glide on air currents.   Story of Death and Strife The story of the game takes place long before the events of the first game when the Horseman of War was expatriate by the Charred Council. During that time, War was still a loyal servant of the Council, on which others he and his brothers laid waste to their kin – the Nephilim of Eden. Still shaken by the ordeal, War, alongside his fellow Horseman, Strife, is tasked with a new mission. The Demon King Lucifer plots to interrupt the Balance – the status quo between angels and demons. To that end, he granted huge power to some of the demons in Hell.  War and Strife are sent to deal with these masters and uncover Lucifer’s conspiracy against the Balance.   Initial reception The first impressions of Darksiders Genesis for PC were largely optimistic. The critics praised the challenging nature of the gameplay, particularly the boss fights.
