Der Silent-Wave-Motor (SWM) sorgt in Verbindung mit der Innenfokussierung (IF) für einen schnellen, präzisen Autofokus und er ermöglicht ein schnelles, bequemes Wechseln zwischen automatischer und manueller Scharfeinstellung. Die Abbildungsleistung wird durch eine Linse aus ED-Glas (Extra-low Dispersion) für eine besonders geringe chromatische Aberration und Nanokristallvergütung für deutlich reduzierte Reflexe verbessert.
