Computer-Controlled Systems with Delay - Torsten Jeinsch - Bog - Springer Nature Switzerland AG - Plusbog.dk

Computer-Controlled Systems with Delay - Torsten Jeinsch - Bog - Springer Nature Switzerland AG - Plusbog.dk

Computer-Controlled Systems with Delay is a systematic study of the problems of analysis and synthesis for multidimensional sampled-data (SD) systems with delay. It is based on the frequency polynomial method, in which the concept of a parametric transfer matrix (PTM) plays a key role. Until now, no alternative general methods have been available to solve the above problems. The text is divided into three parts: - background information from the theory of polynomial and rational matrices, helps the reader to acquire the basic understanding necessary to use the main content of the book without addressing additional sources; - methods for the mathematical description of multidimensional SD systems with delay, based on the concept of the PTM; and - optimization methods for multidimensional SD systems with delay, including H 2 and L 2 optimization as well as H 2 optimization for colored input signals. The monograph is completed by three appendices. An algorithm for constructing the set of pathological sampling periods for a continuous SISO object with delay is provided first. MATLAB®-toolbox algorithms representing methods described in the book and application examples for selected optimization problems are given in the second. A solution to the problem of guaranteeing the required performance in a class of stochastic disturbances for SD systems with delay is considered in the third. Computer-Controlled Systems with Delay is intended for engineers, scientists and teachers working in modern control theory. It will also benefit post-graduate students taking courses in related disciplines. The book continues the description of the authors'' research results on developing methods for SD systems theory which are based on the PTM concept and published in the monographs Computer Controlled Systems and Multivariable Computer-controlled Systems .

Interacting Boson Models of Nuclear Structure - D. Bonatsos - Bog - Oxford University Press - Plusbog.dk

Interacting Boson Models of Nuclear Structure - D. Bonatsos - Bog - Oxford University Press - Plusbog.dk

The fundamental model of nuclear structure is the shell model. However, its application has been limited to light nuclei (up to the sd shell) or heavier nuclei with only a few valence nucleons outside closed shells. Its application beyond these limits has been prohibited so far by the large scale of the calculations involved. For the description of nuclei beyond the sd shell having several valence nucleons the introduction of collective models becomes necessary. The first comprehensive phenomenological model of nuclear structure was the geometric collective model of A. Bohr and B.R. Mottelson. An alternative approach was proposed in 1974 by A. Arima and F. Iachello, known as the Interacting Boson Model. This model, which uses group theoretical techniques in the description of nuclear collective properties, has the advantage of relative simplicity, allowing for detailed calculations of the properties of even medium and heavy nuclei which cannot be reached by the shell model yet. Several extensions and generalizations of the model have appeared over the last decade. Algebraic descriptions for the effects of clustering, permanent octupole deformation, and giant resonances have also been given. For the description of odd nuclei the Interacting Boson-Fermion Model has been introduced, and nuclear supersymmetries associated with it have been analysed. The present text is designed to provide physicists with an accessible introduction to the subject.

Hesed and the New Testament - Karen Nelson - Bog - Pennsylvania State University Press - Plusbog.dk

Hesed and the New Testament - Karen Nelson - Bog - Pennsylvania State University Press - Plusbog.dk

In the Hebrew Bible, ?esed (steadfast love, loyalty, devotion) denotes an important concept that is relevant to interpersonal relationships in every generation. In this book, Karen Nelson investigates New Testament engagement with that concept and the exegetical value of recognizing such engagement. This investigation employs an original hybrid of two methodological approaches: intertextuality, used to consider how New Testament authors appropriate texts that evoke ?esed or ?asîd, and categorization, used to analyze and compare instances of the categories ?sd and ?syd within the Hebrew Bible and the New Testament. Nelson’s work challenges assertions that the New Testament equivalent of ?esed is agape (love) or charis (grace). Rather, she contends that ?esed and ?asîd are more likely to be evoked by the terms with which they are most often rendered in the Septuagint: eleos and hosios, respectively. Nelson rereads selected New Testament pericopes in light of ?esed, highlighting points about ongoing devotion to kinship and covenantal relationships often overlooked in those contexts and showing how New Testament authors and figures utilize the ?esed tradition to critique the contemporary socioreligious situation and encourage belief, enduring commitment, and appropriately changed lifestyles. Addressing a topic that spans the Hebrew Bible and the New Testament, this study will be of value to biblical scholars, especially those who are interested in semantics.

UTAGS Administration Manual - M. Steve Mccallum - Bog - Taylor & Francis Inc - Plusbog.dk

UTAGS Administration Manual - M. Steve Mccallum - Bog - Taylor & Francis Inc - Plusbog.dk

This is the technical manual for the Universal Talented and Gifted Screener . Universal Talented and Gifted Screener (UTAGS) - - features up-to-date national norms, - - is effective with twice-exceptional learners, - - includes bias-free items, and - - provides a fair assessment regardless of student demographic characteristics. - The UTAGS offers schools a time-saving screener for identifying gifted and advanced learners. Designed to be culturally and linguistically fair, the UTAGS is ideal for schools seeking a nationally normed, statistically sound identification screener. Additionally, the UTAGS includes specific considerations for identifying twice-exceptional learners. UTAGS is designed to screen potentially gifted students in six important areas of school success: - cognition, - creativity, - leadership, - literacy, - math, and - science. This theoretically sound instrument provides easily interpretable scores in the IQ metric (i.e., Mean = 100; SD = 15) and identifies student strengths/weaknesses in a quick, accurate, and cost-efficient format. UTAGS provides interpretation norms based on a standardization sample of 2,492 participants from 22 states; student demographics closely reflect the United States population. The authors also provide a guide for local norming. Assessment fairness was a strong consideration during the UTAGS development, and teacher raters are requested to focus on effective examinee communication strategies rather than addressing the particular language/communication mode employed by the student. Consequently, examinees from other cultures, those who have speech limitations, or those who use nonstandard English are not unfairly penalized. Ages 5 years 0 months-17 years 11 months

Laser Communication with Constellation Satellites, UAVs, HAPs and Balloons - Arun K. Majumdar - Bog - Springer International Publishing AG -

This book presents posits a solution to the current limitations in global connectivity by introducing a global laser/optical communication system using constellation satellites, UAVs, HAPs and Balloons. The author outlines how this will help to satisfy the tremendous increasing demand for data exchange and information between end-users worldwide including in remote locations. The book provides both fundamentals and the advanced technology development in establishing worldwide communication and global connectivity using, (I) All-Optical technology, and (ii) Laser/Optical Communication Constellation Satellites (of different types, sizes and at different orbits), UAVs, HAPs (High Altitude Platforms) and Balloons. The book discusses step-by-step methods to develop a satellite backbone in order to interconnect a number of ground nodes clustered within a few SD-WAN (software-defined networking) in a wide area network (WAN) around the world in order to provide a fully-meshed communication network. This book pertains to anyone in optical communications, telecommunications, and system engineers, as well as technical managers in the aerospace industry and the graduate students, and researchers in academia and research laboratory. Proposed a solution to the limitations in global connectivity through a global laser/optical communication system using constellation satellites, UAVs, HAPs and Balloons;Provides both fundamentals and the advanced technology development in establishing global communication connectivity using optical technology and communication constellation satellites;Includes in-depth coverage of the basics of laser/optical communication constellation satellites.
