Digital Forensics and Investigations - Jason Sachowski - Bog - Taylor & Francis Ltd - Plusbog.dk

Digital forensics has been a discipline of Information Security for decades now. Its principles, methodologies, and techniques have remained consistent despite the evolution of technology, and, ultimately, it and can be applied to any form of digital data. However, within a corporate environment, digital forensic professionals are particularly challenged. They must maintain the legal admissibility and forensic viability of digital evidence in support of a broad range of different business functions that include incident response, electronic discovery (ediscovery), and ensuring the controls and accountability of such information across networks. Digital Forensics and Investigations: People, Process, and Technologies to Defend the Enterprise provides the methodologies and strategies necessary for these key business functions to seamlessly integrate digital forensic capabilities to guarantee the admissibility and integrity of digital evidence. In many books, the focus on digital evidence is primarily in the technical, software, and investigative elements, of which there are numerous publications. What tends to get overlooked are the people and process elements within the organization. Taking a step back, the book outlines the importance of integrating and accounting for the people, process, and technology components of digital forensics. In essence, to establish a holistic paradigm—and best-practice procedure and policy approach—to defending the enterprise. This book serves as a roadmap for professionals to successfully integrate an organization’s people, process, and technology with other key business functions in an enterprise’s digital forensic capabilities.

Digital Space and Embodiment in Contemporary Cinema - Jennifer Kirby - Bog - Taylor & Francis Ltd - Plusbog.dk

Digital Space and Embodiment in Contemporary Cinema - Jennifer Kirby - Bog - Taylor & Francis Ltd - Plusbog.dk

Digital Space and Embodiment in Contemporary Cinema examines how contemporary cinema has represented and engaged with the experience of simultaneously inhabiting digital and material spaces (i.e. "composite spaces") in the context of the growing ubiquitousness of digital media and culture. Bringing together a range of key cinematic texts, the book examines how these films represent "composite space" by depicting—often subtly and without explicit reference to technology—what it feels like to live in a world of ubiquitous digital media. The book explores composite spaces through the striking use of elements like colour, symbolic graphics, and music and covers topics like: music as mediator between levels of experience/perception in visionary films such as Sucker Punch (2011) and Spring Breakers (2012); digital colour as an interface in films including Under the Skin (2013); the integration of digital graphical elements drawn from game spaces into material spaces in films such as Scott Pilgrim vs The World (2010) and Nerve (2016); and films that take place on a computer screen including 2020’s widely discussed, Zoom-produced pandemic horror film Host . Through the close analysis of these films, the book offers fresh perspectives on conceptual issues of embodiment, digital agency, and subjectivity. This book is a valuable resource for advanced undergraduates, postgraduates, and scholars in the fields of film studies, digital aesthetics and film theory, digital culture, and digital media.

Evolving from Digital Transformation to Digital Acceleration Using The Galapagos Framework - Brian Harkin - Bog - Taylor & Francis Ltd - Plusbog.dk

Evolving from Digital Transformation to Digital Acceleration Using The Galapagos Framework - Brian Harkin - Bog - Taylor & Francis Ltd - Plusbog.dk

Evolving from Digital Transformation to Digital Acceleration Using The Galapagos Framework challenges established thinking and offers a new way to deliver digital change. It introduces The Galapagos Framework, which is a new, innovative, and human-centric approach to transformational change. The framework allows organizations to move from digital transformation to digital acceleration, resulting in the creation of exciting and groundbreaking products as well as having a positive impact on the motivation and well-being of their teams. Digital Acceleration is an iterative process that allows organizations to deliver transformations and demonstrate continual progress at pace. Rather than tackling the transformation as one large single event, Digital Acceleration enables organizations to improve one or, at most, two discrete areas of the business quickly and then move onto the next area needing improvement. Presenting a detailed guide to The Galapagos Framework, the book also highlights solutions to common issues, expert case studies, and The Galapagos Roadmap. It discusses how the framework provides the key to increasing productivity, delivery velocity, and performance while reducing cost and complexity, ultimately resulting in digital and business success. The book demonstrates how The Galapagos Framework operates in practice to provide clear solutions to common issues that are classifi ed into Human Elements, Organizational Factors, and the Delivery Aspects. The book also explains why the current approaches to digital transformation are failing and shows how digital leaders and organizations can: - Increase productivity - Reduce costs - Improve delivery performance - Reduce operational, financial, and delivery risks - Increase profits - Deliver digital transformation success

Archives and special collections departments have a long history of preserving and providing long-term access to organizational records, rare books, and other unique primary sources including manuscripts, photographs, recordings, and artifacts in various formats. The careful curatorial attention to such records has also ensured that such records remain available to researchers and the public as sources of knowledge, memory, and identity. Digital curation presents an important framework for the continued preservation of digitized and born-digital collections, given the ephemeral and device-dependent nature of digital content. With the emergence of analog and digital media formats in close succession (compared to earlier paper- and film-based formats) came new standards, technologies, methods, documentation, and workflows to ensure safe storage and access to content and associated metadata. Researchers in the digital humanities have extensively applied computing to research; for them, continued access to primary data and cultural heritage means both the continuation of humanities scholarship and new methodologies not possible without digital technology. Digital Curation in the Digital Humanities, therefore, comprises a joint framework for preserving, promoting, and accessing digital collections. This book explores at great length the conceptualization of digital curation projects with interdisciplinary approaches that combine the digital humanities and history, information architecture, social networking, and other themes for such a framework. The individual chapters focus on the specifics of each area, but the relationships holding the knowledge architecture and the digital curation lifecycle model together remain an overarching theme throughout the book; thus, each chapter connects to others on a conceptual, theoretical, or practical level.

Digital Humanities for Librarians - Emma Annette Wilson - Bog - Rowman & Littlefield - Plusbog.dk

Digital Humanities for Librarians - Emma Annette Wilson - Bog - Rowman & Littlefield - Plusbog.dk

Digital Humanities For Librarians. Some librarians are born to Digital Humanities; some aspire to Digital Humanities; and some have Digital Humanities thrust upon them. Digital Humanities For Librarians is a one-stop resource for librarians and LIS students working in this growing new area of academic librarianship. The book begins by introducing Digital Humanities, addressing key questions such as, “What is it?”, “Who does it?”, “How do they do it?”, “Why do they do it?”, and “How can I do it?”. This broad overview is followed by a series of practical chapters answering those questions with step-by-step approaches to both the digital and the human elements of Digital Humanities librarianship. Digital Humanities For Librarians covers a wide range of technologies currently used in the field, from creating digital exhibits, archives, and databases, to digital mapping, text encoding, and computational text analysis (big data for the humanities). However, the book never loses sight of the all-important human component to Digital Humanities work, and culminates in a series of chapters on management and personnel strategies in this area. These chapters walk readers through approaches to project management, effective collaboration, outreach, the reference interview for Digital Humanities, sustainability, and data management, making this a valuable resource for administrators as well as librarians directly involved in digital humanities work. There is also a consideration of budgeting questions, including strategies for supporting Digital Humanities work on a shoestring. . Special features include:·Case studies of a wide range of projects and management issues·Digital instructional documents guiding readers through specific digital technologies and techniques·An accompanying website featuring digital humanities tools and resources and digital interviews with librarians and scholars leading the way in Digital Humanities work across North America, from a range of larger and smaller institutionsWhether you are a librarian primarily working in Digital Humanities for the first time, a student hoping to do so, or a librarian in a cognate area newly-charged with these responsibilities, Digital Humanities For Librarians will be with you every step of the way, drawing on the author’s experiences and those of a network of librarians and scholars to give you the practical support and guidance needed to bring your Digital Humanities initiatives to life.
