Achillea are easy to grow and will do well in a sunny position in most well-drained soils, but will not tolerate waterlogged conditions. Once planted and before the plant has made too much growth add a bamboo cane to support. Water at least once a week during summer months until established, but keep watering in winter to a minimum. Once established Achillea are fairly drought tolerant. Remove spent flowers during the season to encourage more to grow. After flowering is complete, and autumn turns to winter, Achillea should be cut back to ground level preferably before the plants go completely dormant and the old flower spikes turn brown. They can be lifted and divided every three to five years, which will revitalise the original clump and give you new plants to grow elsewhere.

All Dianthus need to be planted in a place in the garden that gets at least 6 hours of sunlight a day. They will not tolerate being wet all the time so need dry, free draining soil, making rockeries and the front of borders the ideal spot for them. That being said, like all plants you must water them regularly to get them established. Remove tired looking flowers and stems straightaway to keep plants blooming. Plants need good air circulation around them, so do not overcrowd them wherever you plant them.

Plant Lupins in full sun to partial shade, in moist but well-drained soil. Make sure you protect young plants from slugs and snails. Feed regularly throughout the growing season and remove flower spikes as soon as they look tired otherwise they will go to seed and the plant will stop flowering. Once the plant has finished flowering, usually around late May / early June, cut the plant back to a few inches and you will usually get a second flush later in the year. Avoid planting in containers, will perform much better in the ground.
