This Anglo Aquatics Glyceria Maxima Variegata is a Marginal plant that comes with purplish-green panicle flowers and is ideal for placing in shallow edges or on shallow planting shelves. Marginal plants are perfect for the borders of your pond where the water is most shallow, or perhaps on a planting shelf. They are able to tolerate waterlogged soil but should be planted no deeper than four inches below the water level. These hardy aquatic plants can be grown outside of the water also, as long as their soil is kept consistently moist. Benefits: A relatively vigorous plant but with attractive pinkie-red striped grass foliage in Spring maturing to yellow & white later in the year. It is graced with purplish-green flowering panicles in late summer. Specifications: Sun/Shade: Full sun to part shade Flowering Months: Jun to Aug Native: No Growth Rate: Fast Best Growing Season: Spring, Summer Minimum Height: 30cm Maximum Height: 60cm Minimum Depth: 3cm Maximum Depth: 25cm Helpful Tips: Little maintenance is required. Trim just above the water surface after foliage has died back in Autumn to tidy. Repotting or Replanting: 9cm marginal plants require potting into a larger mesh basket. Place in a pond no deeper than 1/3 maximum recommended planting depth to allow the plants to establish. 1 litre marginal plants do not require repotting, place in pond no deeper than 1/2 maximum recommended planting depth to allow the plants to establish. 3 litre and 5 litre plants do not require repotting, as they are larger more established plants they can be placed up to the maximum recommended depth. All products are packaged with extreme care and transported in specially designed plant containers. Delivery takes 2-7 working days and will arrive quicker during the Spring and Summer seasons. This beautiful plant is very delicate and sensitive to bruising and posting may cause bruising.  Most plants have arrived absolutely fine as we do package our plants very well so please be extra careful whilst unpacking and re-potting.  The marks will disappear over time as it settles into its new home and begins to grow.  We will package to avoid as much bruising as possible, but we can not replace plants due to bruising in transit.  Cuttings will travel much better. All plants come with a plant label with full plant identification and our UK Plant Passport information.
