Whitley Neill Original Gin Queen's Platinum Jubilee Edition This is a limited edition bottling of the Original Whitley Neill Gin. Created in celebration of the British Monarch's Platinum Jubilee in 2022. Created by an award winning distiller, from a family with a long history of creating spirits dating back to 1762, you can be sure this is a gin which has earned its place as the UK’s number one premium gin. Inspired by his family’s adventurous spirit, Johnny Neill (8th generation) wanted to create his own signature blend. He didn’t want to just pay tribute to his family’s distilling heritage though, but also pay homage to the beauty of his wife’s African homeland. This led to Whitley Neill (Original) Handcrafted Dry Gin. It’s a distinctive gin, uniquely different from your ‘standard’ gin, but one which still takes the classic gin botanicals (juniper, coriander seed, cassia bark, orris root, sweet orange, lemon and angelica root) and blends these perfectly with exotic African botanicals (cape gooseberry and baobab). The result is a gin with a flavour as unique as the heritage behind it. It’s a softer gin than you might expect. It has rich notes of juniper and citrus as you would expect in a premium gin, but it is enhanced with an aroma of exotic spices, and an almost pot pourri essence. The finish is long, with a subtle herbal note, cocoa and a definite candied lemon peel flavour. The aroma is citrus like, slightly sweet yet with a hint of pepper, and distinctive floral notes. This is a gin which moves forward… it doesn’t hide from its heritage. It embraces it, and brings something extra along too. Smooth, sensuous almost – this is a gin you will truly enjoy.
