Hernö Juniper Cask Gin (Mini) 5cl

Hernö Juniper Cask Gin Hernö is the first dedicated gin distillery in Sweden, and is located in Dala on the high coast of Sweden. They only produce organic, artisanal gins, which are inspired by the natural beauty of Sweden. Their Juniper Cask Gin is the first in the world to be matured on juniper wood casks. Using the same distilled gin as their signature Hernö Gin, they dilute it to 47% ABV. This is then matured for 30 days in juniper wood casks. This time in the casks maturing gives an intense juniper note which is finished with a long and harmonious hint of citrus peel. On the nose this gin really gives across a fresh woodiness, with pine from juniper. Behind this ligers soft citrus blossom. In the mouth it has a thick texture, which coats the mouth leaving it a little dry. A heavy juniper flavour, and herbal pepper entice the tongue before giving way to a mild vanilla sweetness. The finish brings a littler citrus and floral notes from coriander. The finish is long with juniper dominating. This realy needs a neutral tonic such as Three Cents Tonic water to ensure the nuances of this gin can be enjoyed. Pour 50ml into a glass filled with ice and top up with 150ml of the tonic. Knob Creek Bourbon Whiskey (Mini) 5cl

Knob Creek Bourbon Whiskey Created by the same distillery as Jim Beam, Knob Creek is a Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey. In fact, it was Jim Beams master distiller (Booker Noe) who launched this whiskey in 1992. It was created to replicate the look, feel and taste of pre-prohibition bourbon. Fun Fact: The name itself comes from Abraham Lincoln's childhood home (Knob Creek Farm) in Kentucky.  This, their primary straight bourbon whiskey, is aged for nine years in white oak casks before being bottled in their distinctive rectangular bottle. This whiskey has a distinctive, spicy and sweet aroma. Melted butter on toast, as well as toasted oak and just a little caramel come through too. On the palate it is a full bodied whiskey. The charred oak again comes through, and is joined by sweetness of candy floss. These merge with nuts, spice and warm dark chcolate. It finishes slightly dry, with the nuts again coming through - joined by a delicate warming vanilla spice. More from Knob Creek Perfect Serve This is a versatile drink - holding its flavours when enjoyed simply over ice, or with a quality cola. However we really enjoyed this in an Old Fashioned Cocktail. In a rocks glass, muddle a pinch of raw sugar and 3 dashes of Angostura Bitters. Add a few cubes of ice and pour over 45ml of the Bourbon. Stir gently, and garnish with a cocktail cherry.

Two Stacks Irish Whiskey - Dram in a Can In creating Two Stacks, there was a desire to blend not just whiskey, but also the very best of contemporary Irish flavour and the real heritage of distilling. Historically in Ireland, merchants and grocers would blend and age their own whiskey blends. They would select from distilleries and then chose their own casks in which to age. Over the last 150 years this heritage has slowly been on the decline. Two Stacks wanted to change this. Relying on traditional techniques, they chose whiskies, blend and cask. Then through taste and nose they decide when the Whiskey has reached its maturity and then empty and hand label each bottle. For their Dram in a Can Two Stacks wanted to create a truly distinctive Irish Whiskey, but one for the contemporary palate. To do this they created a blend of grain whiskey's aged in virgin oak and bourbon oak casks. A Pot still whiskey which has been aged in Oloroso Sherry Casks. And finishes with a bourbon cask matured double-distilled malt, and a peated malt aged in bourbon casks. On the nose there is a sweetness, joined by warm butter and a hint of peach tea. It is delicately sweet and spicy whiskey on the palate, with blackberry notes, butterscotch and toasted oak. The finish is long, with a playful warm honey note. The production dates back to 1872 in Nemyriv (located to the south west of Ukraine's capital Kyiv). They still follow the same principles which were instilled when the company started; high quality, ancient recipes, as well as the constant search for improving the production process and finding new and exciting flavours. With their De Luxe edition, they have created a vodka which reflects the original recipe. They use entirely natural ingredients, pure local water, and premium grain alcohol. Their process used 11 different stages of filtration, and gives the finished vodka a refined, rich flavour with a light aroma of linden flower and vanilla. It has creamy coconut joined with vanilla (almost custard like) notes. The body is delicate with a soft recognisable and warming rum taste and has a long, silky finish.
