Hernö Navy Strength Gin 50cl

Hernö Gin 50cl

Hernö Juniper Cask Gin (Mini) 5cl

Xibal Equinox Gin 70cl

Xibal Equinox Gin 70cl

Xibal Equinox Gin Taking inspiration from Mayan mythology - and the magical spiring equinox - this is a gin coming from Guatamala.  Similar to the original Xibal gin, as part of its creation, botanical fundamentals which come from the Central American region were utilised. This was done to as to obtain a fusion between its Guatemalan roots, the pre-Columbian Mayan culture and mythology, and today's drinking trends. The Guatemalan identity in particular is clear from the bottle. These show symbols and decorations relevant to one of the most important places in Mayan mythology: Xibalba (from which the name of the gin also comes). Xibalba is alegendary middle ground where the Mayan gods challenged the terrains.  The gin itself is created in a micro-distillery and is distilled five times in a traditional copper still. In the Equinox edition, they blend characteristic botanicals from the original, as well as products grown during the fertile season, such as grapefruit and guava. The inspiration from the spring equinox (an astronomical phenomenon when the day and night are of equal length, and the sun reaches its highest point) is in mayan mythology a legendary moment. This time is when a new season is welcomed giving fertility to the earth and heralding the arrival of extraordinary moments. Thanks to the clear bottle, the clear gin can be seen within - which has a soft coral colour to it. On the nose the juniper comes through at the fore, but is quickly followed by fruity guava, fresh cardamom, and citrus. On the palate the piney juniper greets you, before waves of fruity guava, and citrus come through. These blend well, and leave the palate refreshed. More from Xibal Perfect Serve This works particularly well in a gin & tonic. The carbonation helps lift the botanicals in the drink. In a copa glass filled with ice, add 50ml of the gin. Gently top up with 150ml of your chosen tonic (we found East Imperial Tonic worked particularly well here), and then stir gently. Garnish with a slice of grapefruit.

Malfy Con Limone Gin (Mini) 5cl

Malfy Con Limone Gin (Mini) 5cl

Malfy Con Limone Gin "Quello con il limone" - The one with the Lemon The Alamfi Coast. Nowhere else encapsulates the spirit of Italy quite so well. Sun soaked, stylish, life moves at its own pace here. It is this lifestyle " La Dolce Via" (the sweet life) that inspired Malfy Gin.  The delistillery where Malfy Originale Gin is produced is situated in Moncalieri, just outside Torino. This area is famed for its production of fine wines and spirits. It's said that avid climbers Carlo Vergnano and Beppe Ronco (the distillers behind Malfy Gin) were inspired during a climb to the top of Monviso (which can be seen from the distillery). There they saw wild juniper, pure water, and amazing colours of nature and lakes. Amalfi is known not just for its amazing natural beauty, but also for its delicious sun-ripened lemons. This gin marries the finest Italian coastal lemons with the family's unique gin recipe to create a one-of-a kind spirit. It's distilled with classic Italian Juniper and Sfusato lemon peels from the Amalfi Coast. It has juniper and zesty citrus on the nose. The taste is full of lemon zing with a complex flavour of aniseed, citrus and coriander. Deliciously refreshing! Read more about Malfy Perfect Serve This gin works exceptionally well with The Artisan Drinks Co Classic London Tonic. The tonic is crisp, clear, and also has citrus undertones so they compliment each other really well. Serve 50ml of the gin with 200ml of the tonic in a copa glass over plenty of ice. Garnish (of course) with a slice of lemon.

Schouten Yugen No.2 Barrel Aged Gin 70cl

Schouten Yugen No.2 Barrel Aged Gin 70cl

Schouten Yugen No.2 Barrel Aged Gin "De mooiste momenten in het leven zijn momenten van verbinding. Die verbinding kan ontstaan door een verhaal met elkaar te delen of er samen één te creëren. Cheers!" - Joyce en Erwin Schouten "The most beautiful moments in life are moments of connection. That connection can be created by sharing a story with each other or create one together. Cheers!" Hard to translate directly, Yūgen (a Japanese word) is usually translated as 'mysterious profundity'. It refers to the beauty that we can feel, or sense within an object, but which doesn’t exist in the literal sense and cannot be seen. It's a very important concept with Japanese aesthetics. This phrase, Yūgen, influenced the creation of this gin from Schouten. This is the second gin created by the Schouten distillery, and is a Barrel Aged Gin. They create these in small batches, of only 250 bottles each time. The resting of this gin on American Oak Barrels is crucial to the flavour and Yūgen of this gin. It gives a unique sweet taste, and a golden hue. Retaining the power and complexity of gins from Schouten, this has a unique soft hint of vanilla and an exotic hint of coconut.  More from Schouten Perfect Serve With its unique softness, which develops during aging, this is delicious enjoyed pure (we recommend over a few large ice cubes). However it also works in as a longer drink with tonic. We like a neutral tonic which allows the gin to 'speak'. For this we find Franklin & Sons tonic (or their light version) works well. Take a large glass filled with ice and add 50ml of the gin. Gently pour over 100 - 150ml of your chosen tonic and stir gently.

Hernö Botany Bay Dry Gin 50cl

Hernö Botany Bay Dry Gin 50cl

Hernö Botany Bay Dry Gin Hernö is the first dedicated gin distillery in Sweden, and is located in Dala on the high coast of Sweden. They only produce organic, artisanal gins, which are inspired by the natural beauty of Sweden. In 2019 Hernö launched their Interpretations by Hernö series. This is a collectors series of gins each of which have a particularly creative twist. Their Botany Bay Dry gin is from 2020 and is their third release. This is particularly special, as it is a collaboration with another of our favourite distilleries - Four Pillars from Australia (which also hints at the reason for the name!). The botanicals in this gin are a marriage of classic gin botanicals, and those particular to both Sweden and Australia. They are: Juniper, Coriander, Lemon Myrtle, Lemon Peel, Lingonberries, Meadowsweet, Tasmanian Pepperberries and Wattleseed. On the nose sweet citrusy notes come through along with fresh eucalyptus, hints of crispbread and lots of juniper. The palate has plenty of juniper, which like with the aroma is supported with candied citrus and eucalyptus. Soft pink pepper, and a further floral pepperiness excite the mouth. Its finish is surprisingly nutty, with hints of chocolate and lemon. The Tasmanian pepper leaves the mouth slighty numb. More from Hernö Perfect Serve Whilst this makes a deliciously intruiging Gin & Tonic, we also liked this in one of Hernö's suggested serves - the Hernö 'Lagom Word' Cocktail (their take on the Last word cocktail). In a cocktail shaker filled with ice add 20ml of Hernö Botany Bay Dry Gin, 20ml of Green Chartreuse, 20ml of Luxardo Maraschino and 20ml of lime juice. Shake well and strain in to a chilled tumbler glass with fresh ice. Top with approx 60ml of Soda Water.

The Lakes Pink Grapefruit Gin 70cl

The Lakes Pink Grapefruit Gin 70cl

The Lakes Pink Grapefruit Gin It is the location in the North West of England, The Lake District National Park (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), which gives this distillery it's name. This is an area of oustanding natural beauty, and over the centuries has inspired poets, artists, novelists, sculptors - and now distillers. Having worked in the Scotch Whisky industry for many years, Paul Currie used to take family holidays in the Lake District. With whisky in his veins, he felt there was an opportunity for a distillery in the Lakes. The area had all the requirements: water, land, old farm buildings suitable for conversion, potential visitor numbers; but most importantly it felt right..... and so they began distilling premium spirits. For their gins, they infuse their unique botanical blend with the best British wheat alcohol, as well as pure water from the Lake District in which they are located. Juniper, coriander and angelica provide their flavour cornerstones. Orris root, cassia bark and liquorice offer complementary flavours with orange and lemon peel enhancing the gin’s citrus notes. In this edition they also add a good quantity of Pink Grapefruit, which enhances the citrus notes further. On the nose this has a bright, fresh and zesty aroma of grapefruit - which is complimented by piney juniper and a hint of coriander. On the palate the zesty pink grapefruit comes through perfectly. The background brings in the crisp juniper, and black pepper before leaving a smooth and defined citrus finish More from The Lakes Distillery Perfect Serve This makes a deliciously refreshing Gin & Tonic. Take a large glass and fill with ice. Add 50ml of the gin and gently pour over 150ml of your chosen tonic (any quality tonic will work, but we like this with East Imperial Tonic Water). Stir gently and garnish with a sprig of rosemary.

Whitley Neill Original Gin Queen's Platinum Jubilee Edition 70cl

Whitley Neill Original Gin Queen's Platinum Jubilee Edition 70cl

Whitley Neill Original Gin Queen's Platinum Jubilee Edition This is a limited edition bottling of the Original Whitley Neill Gin. Created in celebration of the British Monarch's Platinum Jubilee in 2022. Created by an award winning distiller, from a family with a long history of creating spirits dating back to 1762, you can be sure this is a gin which has earned its place as the UK’s number one premium gin. Inspired by his family’s adventurous spirit, Johnny Neill (8th generation) wanted to create his own signature blend. He didn’t want to just pay tribute to his family’s distilling heritage though, but also pay homage to the beauty of his wife’s African homeland. This led to Whitley Neill (Original) Handcrafted Dry Gin. It’s a distinctive gin, uniquely different from your ‘standard’ gin, but one which still takes the classic gin botanicals (juniper, coriander seed, cassia bark, orris root, sweet orange, lemon and angelica root) and blends these perfectly with exotic African botanicals (cape gooseberry and baobab). The result is a gin with a flavour as unique as the heritage behind it. It’s a softer gin than you might expect. It has rich notes of juniper and citrus as you would expect in a premium gin, but it is enhanced with an aroma of exotic spices, and an almost pot pourri essence. The finish is long, with a subtle herbal note, cocoa and a definite candied lemon peel flavour. The aroma is citrus like, slightly sweet yet with a hint of pepper, and distinctive floral notes. This is a gin which moves forward… it doesn’t hide from its heritage. It embraces it, and brings something extra along too. Smooth, sensuous almost – this is a gin you will truly enjoy. Read more about Whitley Neill Perfect Serve We’d encourage you to try this gin first with a neutral tonic, such as Fentimans Connoisseurs Tonic, to really appreciate its smooth delicious flavour. Plenty of ice and garnish with a slice of orange.

Ungava Gin 70cl

Ungava Gin 70cl

Ungava Canadian Premium Gin The six rare botanicals used in the creation of Ungava gin grow in the Arctic tundra of Canada. It is these which give the distinct colour and taste. In the far north of the Canadian province of Quebec, in the Arctic tundra you can find the Ungava Peninsula. This is an area of 350,000 km2 which surrounds Ungava bay. Covered in pristine snow and ice for almost 9 months of the year, its an area of outstanding beauty. During the short growing season, these six botanicals grow. Each of these adds something to the overall flavour and aroma of Ungava. Nordic juniper is a rare strain of juniper, and has the distinct pine in its aroma and flavour, but also fresh citrus. Labrador Tea has fragrant leaves and delicate white flowers. It confers floral and herbal aspects to the gin. Arctic Blend adds an underlying spiciness, along with a subtle coniferous aroma. Wild Rose Hip contributes to the signature yellow colour, whilst adding a slightly sweet citrus note. Crowberry (these resemble wild blueberries) adds a light acidity and bitterness, which balances out the other botanicals. Lastly, Cloudberry adds a fruity tartness to the gin. This blend of botanicals are allowed to steep slowly, which gives the captivating aroma, complex flavour and distinct colour. The nose of the gin has a distinct juniper / pine note, with an interesting citrus expression. The flavour is distinct. Bright and lively, as well as exceptionally smooth. It gives an aromatic balance of citrus and warm spice. Perfect Serve Whilst this works well with a dash of soda, or a neutral tonic, we love this with Fever-Tree Aromatic Tonic. In a large glass filled with ice add 50ml of the gin and 100-150ml of the aromatic tonic water. Stir gently, and garnish with a slice of grapefruit, some peppercorns and a sprig of rosemary.

Hernö High Coast Terroir Gin 2018 50cl

Hernö High Coast Terroir Gin 2018 50cl

Hernö High Coast Terroir Gin 2018 Hernö is the first dedicated gin distillery in Sweden, and is located in Dala on the high coast of Sweden. They only produce organic, artisanal gins, which are inspired by the natural beauty of Sweden. In 2016 Hernö launched their High Coast Terroir series. Each year they select different botanicals sourced from the High Coast of Sweden (to the north of Stockholm, on the Gulf of Bothnia).  For their 2018 edition, they differed their base spirit as well as the botanicals chosen. In this edition their bases partially comes from a malt base produced by one of their neighbours, the Lockeby Brewery. The botanicals from the High Coast that they used in this edition are: Elderflower, Juniper, Rowan Berries and Spruce Shoots. The resulting gin offers an aroma which is crisp, with the juniper coming through first, followed by an array of floral notes. There is a base note from the malt, and fresh citrus tones. On the palate there is a definite floral complexity, which blends with the juniper, somewhat softening it. The rowan lends a freshness to it. As the flavours develop in the mouth the elderflower comes forward, with a little warmth with peppery notes. The spruce adds a gentle sweetness. Overall this is a pleasure on the taste buds, with the flavours being balanced perfectly. More from Hernö Perfect Serve This is truly a special gin, and one we highly recommend enjoyed as it was designed to be. Take a rocks glass and add a large ice cube, and complete with 50ml of the gin. No garnish needed with this one!  However if you like your drinks longer, it makes an equally delicious Gin & Tonic. Take a large glass filled with ice and add 50ml of the gin. Gently pour over 150ml of your chosen tonic (we liked this with East Imperial Tonic Water). Garnish with a few juniper berries.

Glendalough Wild Botanical Irish Gin 70cl

Glendalough Wild Botanical Irish Gin 70cl

Glendalough Wild Botanical Irish Gin Created by a group of friends who came from County Wicklow and Dublin, The Glendalough Distilley was born of a passion to revive the heritage of craft distilling in Ireland. Glendalough itself is one of the most picturesque and visited valleys in Ireland. It is situated in County Wicklow, just south of Dublin within the Wicklow mountains. Fun Fact: The monk with his arms raised, seen on all Glendalough's bottles, is St. Kevin of Glendalough. An Irish legend, originally born of Irish Royalty who was said to have lived over 1400 years ago.  It is the beauty, and bounty of County Wicklow which inspired their Wild Botanical Gin. For each distillation the distillery's full time forager goes into mountains around the distillery. They harvest sustainably - ensuring they do not over-forage. Then, what is picked is put into the still within a few hours ensuring the oils, fragrances and flavours are captured. For this reason, each small batch of 250 litres will taste slightly different. The result is a deliciously fragrant gin has grapefruit and pine from the juniper. Hints of heather and rose petals also come through. Overall this is a fresh and vibrant gin.  The distillery believe that "With each taste, this gin transports you to a place and time in our home - the Wicklow Mountains." More from Glendalough Perfect Serve This can easily be enjoyed with a neutral tonic, such as Three Cents Tonic Water. However any quality neutral tonic will work well. For something a little different, this also works well with their Aegean Tonic Water. Take a large glass filled with ice and add 50ml of the gin. Gently pour over 150 - 200ml of your chosen tonic and stir gently. Garnish simply with a few juniper berries. This also works perfect in the mix - how about trying a Bee's Knees Cocktail?

Whilst a beautiful area - it offers unique challenges to business located there. From the winter weather extremes to the long distances, combined with a sparsley populated region. If you prefer a herbaceously and fragrant cocktail, then a Basil Smash is perfect (and not so hard to make). Activate the basil (8 leaves), by giving it a slap in your hands, then place in a cocktail shaker and use a muddler to bash them up a bit. Add 60ml Brighton Gin Pavilion Strength, 25ml fresh lime juice and 15ml sugar syrup. Add ice and shake, shake, shake for about 15 seconds. Double strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with a basil leaf. If you like a longer drink, pour into a highball glass and top up with soda water.
