Rogue Squadron is another space flight simulator set in the Star Wars universe after X-Wing and Tie Fighter. The action of the game takes place between the events of the movies Star Wars: A New Hope and Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. The Rebels won the Battle of Yavin when Luke Skywalker, with the help of Wedge Antilles, destroyed the Death Star. The Empire, however, did not give up preparing a frontal attack on all rebel forces.To avert the new crisis, Luke Skywalker and Wedge Antilles join the Rogue Squadron, a group of twelve highly trained fighter pilots. Thanks to the skill of piloting most of the combat ships used by the Rebellion and the courage, Rogue Squadron takes part in the most difficult missions. We have a number of combat missions to perform under the command of General Rieekan, who assigns specific tasks. The player takes on the role of Luke Skywalker, and Wedge Antilles and other Rogue Squadron pilots are his wingers. As we complete subsequent tasks, we participate in more and more difficult missions, getting better ships and stronger weapons.

Star Wars: Rebellion is the first attempt by LucasArts to create a strategy game referring to the rich world of "Star Wars" - the popular film saga of George Lucas. There are two sides to the conflict to choose from: the Empire and the Rebel Alliance. The goal of the game is very similar for each faction, with only minor differences. The rebels must capture the planet Coruscant as well as imprison the Emperor and Lord Vader. The main task of the Empire is to locate and take over the hidden Rebel base and capture Luke Skywalker and Mon Mothma. In Star Wars: Rebellion, the gameplay is divided into successive phases: economic and military. The former is related not only to the development of infrastructure, but above all - to gaining the support of free planetary systems that would like to support the only right cause. Diplomacy plays the most important role here - the constant use of force usually has the opposite effect and brings allies to our enemies.  Of course, the expansion and maintenance of the space fleet is also of great importance here. The most important factor needed to develop an army are command points, obtained by extracting resources from heavenly bodies rich in mineral deposits. The number of ships can make you dizzy - we have all the more important fighters, powerful warships and even the Death Star. Heroes are a separate issue, they are described with several factors (as in cRPG games). Both Luke Skywalker and Lord Vader also have the Force, which allows them to locate other inhabitants of the galaxy with unusual abilities and train them. Star Wars: Rebellion is an interesting product, mainly due to the wealth of diplomatic actions that the player can undertake to fight the enemy. Unfortunately, not the best visual setting and the excessive slowness of the game make it a position only for die-hard fans of the genre, possibly hardcore fans of "Star Wars".

The game is enriched by additional objectives: in some missions we have to rescue and protect hostages, in others we will have to sabotage or capture important data or eliminate the indicated targets. Contrary to typical shooters, in  Republic Commando we are constantly accompanied by three commandos led by artificial intelligence . Although they generally have similar abilities, each of them also has their own specialization.
