HoPiKo is a hardcore speed-run platformer , produced by the British studio Laser Dog Games, with a successful cosmic runner Alone ... and a logic-arcade game PUK . The title debuted simultaneously on smartphones and tablets running Android and iOS and is offered in the premium model. Later it also appeared on PCs and Macs.
Story
Action HoPiKo takes place in the not too distant past, in which the dynamic development of electronic entertainment is stopped by a powerful virus Nanobyte. The digital enemy attacks computers and consoles, preventing them from working properly. The desperate players have the only hope of the title character who visits infected devices and takes a direct fight with the virus.
Gameplay
As already mentioned, the title is a dynamic speed-run platformer. The gameplay boils down to jumping on platforms and avoiding obstacles and traps between them . At the same time, the levels are a real logical challenge. The way to the goal, i.e. Nanobyte's spawn, should be carefully planned in advance, which is not made easier by the fact that the platforms are often placed at strange angles, making it impossible to perform certain actions. As a result, we often repeat the next stages, learning the correct sequences of movements by heart. The gameplay is diversified by new solutions at the level of gameplay mechanics, e.g. launchers, disappearing and moving platforms, as well as map fragments on which we control the hero to a greater extent than usual.
