Overgrowth is an original third-person action game, created by the independent American studio Wolfire Games, created on the initiative of David Rosen - repeatedly awarded in the uDevGames competition in the category of the best game developer for Mac OS X. Both in terms of plot and technology, the title is a development of the first, amateur the studio's production, Lugaru, which was released in 2005 for PC and Mac.
The plot of the game is set in a medieval, dystopian world ruled by anarchy and lawlessness. This universe is inhabited by unusual, anthropomorphic warriors such as rabbits, wolves, dogs, cats and rats. The action takes place a few years after the events of Lugar. The main character, Turner, after killing the evil and corrupt king, is proclaimed the new ruler of the land. However, he refuses to take his place on the throne, going on a further journey with a mission to repair the world.
During the exploration, our ancestor will have to face various enemies, using a specially designed and original combat system. It is based on cautious attacks, coups and high mobility of the characters. Turner can use a wide range of melee weapons available in the game, it also has the ability to deflect blows, so that almost any attack is able to turn against the attacker. An important element of the game is the ability to use the environment. The hero can, for example, use a branch that has been torn off a tree to defend it, or cross a river in order to lose wolves that are tracking him.
