Alpinestars redefineste protectia pentru motociclisti inca de la infiintarea companiei din 1963 iar Tech-Air 5, noul sistem de airbag autonom este ultima aparitie in familie.  Tech-Air 5 este mezinul gamei Tech-Air care include pana in prezent modelele Tech-Air Race si Tech-Air Street. Alpinestars continua sa conduca aceasta nisa in sistemele active de airbag pentru motociclisti si pasageri iar Tech-Air 5 este dovada incontestabila a angajamentului de a face aceasta tehnologie mai accesibila ca oricand. Tech-Air 5 este un sistem autonom ce poate fi purtat sub orice geaca de piele sau textil (si combinezoane moto), cu conditia ca acestea sa ofera un spatiu de 4 cm in circumferinta pieptului. De asemenea, orice produs sau geaca Alpinestars pregatita pentru sistemele Tech-Air, poate sa gazduiasca acest model de airbag. Tech-Air 5 ofera o siguranta fara egal, acoperind tot spatele, umerii, clavicula, coastele si pieptul, oferind o protectie maxima motociclistilor, cu o reducere a fortelor de impact de pana la 95%, ce mai mare de pe piata in aceast moment. Protectia umerilor este critica in cazul unui accident stradal iar umerii pilotilor sunt in mod prioritar protejati de sistemul Tech- Air, reducand in mod efectiv si eficient riscul leziunilor de la nivelul umarului si a claviculei.  Vesta airbag de ultima generatie, Tech-Air 5 este dotata cu un sistem electronic activ ce prezinta 6 senzori integrati (3 giroscoape si 3 accelerometre) si un algoritm anti-accidente care utilizează inteligenta artificiala pentru a monitoriza cu precizie momentul în care trebuie să fie declansat airbagul în eventualitatea unui accident. Senzorii monitorizeaza de 1000 ori pe secunda pozitia si viteza riderului iar in cazul unui scenariu specific unui accident, vesta se declanseaza prin activarea instanta a celor 2 cartuse de argon. Dezvoltata in urma mai multor ani de cercetare, cu ajutorul a peste 50% din riderii de top din MotoGP sponsorizati de Alpinestars, clienti Alpinestars si date culese din milioane de kilometrii si mii de accidente,  vesta Tech-Air 5 este cel mai avansat sistem de protectie ce se imbunatateste continuu prin update-urile periodice pe care utilizatorul le poate face din telefonul mobil.  In cazul unui accident, vesta se declanseaza umfland airbag-ul interior in 20/40ms, in functie de masura vestei iar ansamblul protectiei este echivalentul a 18 protectii de spate Level 1 sau 9 protectii spate level 2.  Sistemul este usor de folosit, doar inchideti vesta cu fermoarul si conectati contactul magnetic superior pentru activarea airbag-ului in modulul ready to ride . Un ansamblu de Led-uri va indica statusul airbag-ului iar bateria lithium va ofera o durata de viata de 30 de ore de calatorie. Sistemul este echipat cu o mufa magnetica USB ce faciliteaza incarcarea rapida si eficace. Conectivitatea Bluetooth si aplicatia Tech-Air va ofera posiblitatea sa folositi telefonul pentru a opera comenzile vestei. De asemenea, aplicatia va arata statusul bateriei, analiza detaliata a calatoriei si posibilitatea update-urilor periodice.  De mai bine de 20 de ani Alpinestars a inceput dezvoltarea sistemului Tech-Air. Cand a fost lansat pe piata in 2014, sistemul Tech-Air a fost recunoscut ca fiind singurul airbag ce oferea protectie completa trenului superior cu un independent sistem electronic de management. In Decembrie 2019, Tech-Air 5 a fost deja recunoscut de CES ca fiind unul dintre cele mai inovative produse din Wearables Technology Marketplace.
