Different combinations of these are used to act as smoke sensors and proximity sensors to measure the smoke level at the detector and to detect any physical obstruction or interference of the detector.As this detector is chamberless an IR LED emits light outside the detector. The light is scattered by smoke back towards the detector and registered by a photo-diode.A pair of microprocessors control these sensors setting the sensor timings and using a digital phase-sensitive detection algorithm to reduce noise and the effect of background light. Discovery and CoreProtocol configurable.Once activated the Intelligent Manual Call Point can be reset by inserting the reset key into the front facing LED turning clockwise until a positive click and reset occurs.The Intelligent Manual Call Point incorporates a short circuit isolator which will ensure its operation in the event of a short circuit fault on the loop. It requires a local power supply of 1235V DC to power the external load which may be up to 5A. A polarising diode is required with each alarm device as sounders are operated by voltage reversal provided by a double-pole change-over relay. The sounder circuit is protected by a fuse rated at 5A quick acting.OperationThe Sounder Controller allows sounders to be operated continuously or be pulsed 1 second on 1 second off. Sounders may be operated individually or in groups and whichever address mode has been applied may be synchronised when in pulsed operation. An opto-coupled input is provided to monitor the state of the external power supply. This allows for Soteria detectors and bases to operate on existing systems and for Soteria detectors to operate on XP95 and Discovery bases XPERT 7 Intelligent Mounting Base. It should be noted that not all features of Soteria will be available when used with XP95 or Discovery fire control panels.If Soteria detectors are used with XP95 fire control panels incorporating drift compensation algorithms these must be disabled when communicating with Soteria devices. When Soteria detectors are used with an XPERT 7 Intelligent Mounting Base on a CoreProtocol system Soteria devices will have a 128 address offset due to only 7 address pips being available on the XPERT 7 card.
