Bergenia Bressingham White - 2 Litre Pot

Bergenia are easy to grow and require very little maintenance. They are happy in most well-drained soils, even ones that are particularly wet or dry and can be grown in sun or partial shade. During the first year water regularly until established. Remove faded flower stems after flowering and any brown leaves you find through the summer. Every 2 or 3 years, divide the clump in early spring.

German breeder Heuger is the breeder and creator of Helleborus Gold Collection – the finest collection of Hellebores on the market. Bred specifically for use as a cut flower, Hellebore Gold Collection plants have an upright habit and are selected for upward and outward-facing flowers that are much more useful to designers than older ‘Orientalis’ varieties with their “nodding” blooms. We love that their winter show brings colour and life to the darker part of the year. We grow four series here on our Herefordshire nursery; Christmas Roses, Ice N’ Roses®, Snow Roses and Winter ballet series from German breeder, Heuger. The colourful parts of the Hellebore are its hardened sepals, which surround a ring of tiny petals modified into tubular nectaries, and many stamens. Depending on the variety, Hellebores can bloom from November, for example Hellebore HGC® Ice N’ Roses® Early Rose, right through late winter, into early spring (Hellebore HGC® Maestro® is a lovely later-flowering variety). Hellebores are a hardy, dual-purpose perennial for blooms as well as attractive, long-lasting foliage. Though older varieties can take up to four years to yield stems suitable for cutting, Helleborus Gold Collection® Hellebores are extremely vigorous and will flower in their second year. Happy in part shade, hardy and low-maintenance, Hellebores will last for decades if they like the place they are planted. Helleborus Gold Collection® Hellebores quickly form productive clumps, and can grow up to 2 feet tall.

Scilla 'Peruviana' - 2 Litre Pot

Scilla originate from the Mediterranean, so they do love a sunny spot in the garden with well-drained soil. Water well during the growing season until established, but ease off with the watering after flowering allowing it to dry out a bit. They require little maintenance but must be allowed to die back naturally after flowering, in order to feed the bulb for the following year.

Geum Nonna - 2 Litre Pot

Geums are incredibly easy to care for and a great value plant - they always perform! As long as they are not planted in a spot that is waterlogged, they will come back every year and reward you with masses of flowers. Water well to establish, and nip any tired flowers off as soon as you spot them. It is also worth feeding every couple of weeks during the flowering season.

This dwarf pincushion flower is ideal for under planting in your borders beneath taller shrubs or roses. Once in its ideal location, it will throw out its butterfly loving blooms all Summer long. It’s blooms also hold seeds for birds, so it really does encourage a wealth of activity in your garden! When the flowers look spent, you can offer it a quick deadhead, and it will show again between June and the first frost in around September. Our Scabiosa is nectar-rich, brings wildlife and requires very low maintenance so it is sure to win your heart in no time!
