Photinia x Fraseri ‘Nana’ – Shrub - Multi Buy

Photinia x Fraseri ‘Nana’ – Shrub - Multi Buy

Photinia x Fraseri "Nana", also known as Little Red Robin or occasionally the Christmas Berry, is a group of evergreen shrubs grown specifically for glossy, dark green adult foliage, white flowers and brilliant red tinted young leaves; in the spring, they unfold to give a stunning display. The best known of the photinias is Photinia Red Robin, which is often planted as a specimen shrub or as a dense, evergreen hedge. A Christmas Berry Red Robin puts on a show all year round, with white springtime flowers and new leaves that start out as a vibrant red, before darkening to a glossy green as they age. These bright colours are popular with wildlife, but due to its loose branch structure, birds are unlikely to choose the Red Robin as a nesting location (which is ironic). Christmas Berry Red Robins are an excellent choice for creating interesting hedges and borders. Hakonechloa Macra (Japanese Forest Grass / Hakone Grass)

Hakonechloa Macra (Japanese Forest Grass / Hakone Grass)

Native to the mountainous regions of Japan, this perennial is celebrated for its graceful, cascading foliage and its ability to thrive in shaded and partially shaded areas. The standout feature of Japanese Forest Grass is its slender, arching leaves that form a soft, flowing mound. The foliage typically has a rich green color, but there are also cultivars with variegated or golden leaves, such as Hakonechloa Macra ‘Aureola’, which is known for its vibrant yellow-green blades. In autumn, the foliage often takes on warm tones of red, orange, or bronze, adding seasonal interest. The plant's fine texture and mounding habit make it an excellent choice for adding softness and contrast to garden beds. It pairs beautifully with bold-leaved plants like hostas, ferns, and heucheras, or with other shade-loving plants like Japanese maples, hydrangeas, and hellebores. Japanese Forest Grass - an excellent choice for brightening up darker corners of the garden where many other plants might struggle. While it can tolerate full sun, it prefers dappled shade, where its foliage color and texture are at their best. The plant is relatively low maintenance once established. It prefers well-drained, humus-rich soil and benefits from regular watering during dry periods. In spring, any dead or damaged foliage can be trimmed back to encourage fresh growth. Beyond that, it requires little attention, making it a great choice for gardeners seeking an attractive yet easy-care plant. Star Jasmine (Rhyncospermum Jasminoides / Trachelospermum Jasminoides) – Climbing

Star Jasmine (Rhyncospermum Jasminoides / Trachelospermum Jasminoides) – Climbing

A climbing, evergreen, woody shrub. Its leaves are oval, shiny and darkgreen in colour with a lighter shade on the undersides. From May to the end of the month of August, simple, pure white, 5-petalled, intensely fragrant flowers are produced. Trachelospermum jasminoides is commonly grown as an ornamental plant and houseplant. In gardens, public landscapes, and parks it is used as a climbing vine, a groundcover, and a fragrant potted plant on terraces and patios. It will flower in full sun, partial shade, or total shade, and requires well-drained soil (if constantly kept damp it may succumb to fungal infection), moderate water, moderate fertilizer, and a climbing structure (whether a trellis or another plant is secondary). Propagation is most commonly done with cuttings/clones. It is widely planted in California and also particularly in the Southeastern United States. It is debated however, where the common name for this plant, confederate jasmine, comes from. While some dictionaries suggest that the name comes from the plant’s common cultivation in the southern United States, others argue that the term actually comes from Malaysia, and the former Malay confederacy. It gets another of its common names, trader’s compass, from an old Uzbekistan saying that it pointed traders in the right direction, provided they were of good character. It is also called star jasmine in Europe and Chinese jasmine or Chinese ivy in Asia. Photinia Serrulata Red Robin (Christmas Berry) - Shrub - Multi Buy

Photinia Serrulata Red Robin (Christmas Berry) - Shrub - Multi Buy

An evergreen shrub with bright red leaves that become a glossy green colour as they mature. A Christmas Berry Red Robin hedge puts on a show all year round, with white springtime flowers and new leaves that start out as a vibrant red, before darkening to a glossy green as they age. These bright colours are popular with wildlife, but due to its loose branch structure, birds are unlikely to choose the Red Robin as a nesting location (which is ironic). With a high final height of up-to 400cm, Christmas Berry Red Robins are an excellent choice for creating interesting hedges and borders. All of our Hedging Plants allow you to style your garden in a range of different ways, not just because of their varied colours, but also because of the way you choose to trim and maintain them. Prune them regularly to achieve a neat, clean form, or let them bush-out a little to create a more natural appearance. Whether you're using a hedge to give your garden some privacy, or as protection from the weather, road and noise pollution, you'll want to choose a plant that complements the rest of your garden's visual appearance.
