The stretch provides freedom of movement, and overall, it's just a light and delightful quality.  What is slub stretch jersey? This name refers to a classic knitted jersey fabric with stretch, where "slub" refers to the fine little irregularities in the fabric due to varying thread thicknesses. It provides a slightly rustic look.  Some Practical Information This fabric consists of 96% organic cotton and 4% elastane. You choose the length you need for your sewing project – the width is 155 cm. The fabric shrinks 6% when washed.  When working with jersey, we recommend using a jersey needle, characterised by its medium tip – also known as ball point. The needle easily penetrates the knitted quality and prevents stitches and threads from running. For this type of jersey, we recommend jersey needles in size 70/80. Always wipe off immediately with a damp cloth, wrung in warm water if necessary, with a little detergent. It prolongs the service life. The classic multi-purpose elastic bandIf there's one elastic band that brings back memories, it's probably this one. It reminds you of the type of elastic band that was a key component of your parents' sewing box; it was the elastic you found when you were allowed to rummage for nice buttons - and if you were lucky, you got a little piece to play with. The elastic is flat, the quality is braided, and it really is a great go-to elastic. With its 5 mm width, it's perfect as elastic for children's trousers, lovely puff sleeves and elegant necklines on tops and dresses. But it's also your go-to when you need elastic for festive masks for Shrove Tuesday and Halloween.   We prefer to use the elastic so that it is hidden in a drawstring. This elastic band can be washed at 60° and tumble dried at low heat, so you can also use it for panties, for example. This is simply a high quality elastic that keeps its elasticity wash after wash.

The most flexible satinDresses, jackets, shirts, tops and skirts - you can sew pretty much anything you want with this stretch satin fabric.   It's the classic satin weave with elastane added, so you get a more matte surface and a more flexible material with greater freedom of movement than the classic satin weaves. Choose from a wide range of beautiful colours and get crafty for your next festive occasion. A little more about this satinThe fabric is made of polyester/elastane, measures 135 cm in width and can be washed at 40° - remember to let it air dry hanging and iron only at low heat. It shrinks approx. 1% in the wash. TIP: Sharp scissors are a must when working with satin. The fabric can be difficult to cut because it's slippery and also offers a lot of resistance. Use a good quality pair of fabric scissors or, if you want to make it even easier, a sharp roller knife/roller cutter. Get ready for your next partyDo you need to sew a party dress - maybe even with a matching bow tie or sash - for the next party? Or are you in the process of designing your confirmation dress but need the perfect blank fabric to bring your design to life? Party satin - or duchess satin - is a great choice: Its bright colours and elegant drape give you plenty of options for creating festive dresses, shirts, tops, bow ties, vests and trouser suits.   And if you want it all to match, you can also sew a small clutch to go with it. A little more about this satinMade from 100% polyester, this satin has a nice drape and the classic satin look in a variety of colours. The fabric is 145 cm wide, has a weight of 150 grams and shrinks about 1% in the wash. You can machine wash it at 40° - remember that it should always be hang-dried and only ironed at low heat. TIP: Avoid water and water-based markers - they can leave small stains (same goes for hand cream!). Instead, use tailor's chalk to make markings. Always make a test on a small piece first, then draw on the back. And - while we're on the subject of water - never use steam on satin as it can leave water stains and the high temperature from the steam can change the lustre of the fabric.
