Check that the thermometer reads 0?C or 32?F. If it does the thermometer is accurate and ready to use. If not it requires calibration. With the probe still in the icy water press and hold the red RESET button using a pointed instrument and adjust the reading to 0?C or 32?F. The thermometer is now ready for use.
