Our popular pincushion flower, Scabiosa Blue Note is a striking dwarf perennial with an informal display of delicate flowers. It is small and delicate, perfect for the front of your garden borders. This compact plant flirts with wildlife with its delicate bloom in a rich blue colour born on lance shaped, grey-green leaves. No longer used to treat Scabies by the Romans, however it’s Latin name ‘to scratch’ lingers on as bees and other wildlife use its high pollen pincushion blooms to deliver and collect. It’s blooms also hold seeds! Scabiosa Blue Note is very easy to care for and requires very little maintenance.  It enjoys full sun and partially sheltered spots in the garden with moist but well drained soil. Blue Note fits into your borders in those gaps we don’t know what to do with.  Once you pop it into its home, it will throw out plumes of colour all summer long. Once the flowers fade, a quick chop, and it will flower again and again between July and September. Gardens that suit Scabiosa’s are; well drained rock gardens, container displays, cottage gardens, country gardens, prairie gardens and urban gardens.

Aubrieta ‘Kitte Blue’ are so easy to grow and require very little maintenance, which is why they are great garden fillers, in between paving slabs or in walls, cascading over rockeries and forming low cushions of evergreen foliage displaying violet-blue blooms. A versatile evergreen Alpine perennial that produces carpets of vibrant blossoms in late Spring and early Summer, Aubrieta provides a robust yet colourful and long-lasting display suitable for a variety of spaces in your garden. We think Aubrieta ‘Kitte Blue’ is the ultimate in blue Aubrieta and is considered the ‘work-horse’ as this plant is so very easy to grow, providing interesting foliage and colour at the front of your beds and borders.  It is a vigorous plant that will fill pots quickly but maintains a tight habit with a height of about 10cm high, making it perfect for container planting. We cherish this Aubrieta for providing a cottage garden rampage of colour in the wall cracks, trailing down walls or banks, pavers or rockeries. Adored by bees and other pollinating insects, the nectar-rich long flowering Aubretia ‘Kitte Blue’ brings a wealth of wildlife making it an ideal perennial for pollinator-friendly garden spaces. Agapanthus Megan’s Mauve has a highly unique flower colour – whilst most Agapanthus are dark blues, Megan’s Mauve is a light, almost lilac purple. This will be sure to differentiate this variety from other plants you may have in the garden, or it can even create an effective impact alone in a pot. Agapanthus bear a mound of deep green evergreen foliage, with tall stems shooting from within upholding huge flower heads. It’s flowers are trumpet shaped, with light purple petals with a dark stripe on the inside of each one, giving this variety such a unique look. This plant will look great in full sunlight or partially shaded conditions, where not only can the light radiate off it’s bright flowers, but it’s also where it’ll grow the best, ensuring only the best possible display throughout mid to late summer. Agapanthus Stardust is a fantastic variety that combines compact height with stunning colour late in the season, making it a great choice for gardens everywhere. This variety bears light blue flowers that are darker at the bud, opening into funnel-shaped blooms that will last through late Summer to early Autumn. These blooms are held by the dozens on large flower heads atop stems shorter than most Agapanthus, reaching around 45cm high making this one of the shortest Agapanthus varieties. This makes them great for potting, as their foliage can spill over the edges nicely while not taking up too much space vertically to ensure it’ll fit nicely wherever you’d like it! At its base it forms a mound of foliage composed of long, thin, deciduous leaves that are a light green – contrasting beautifully with its flowers. Agapanthus are the premier choice for wildlife focussed gardens, as bees and other pollinators adore their nectar rich flowers. They also require very little maintenance, being drought tolerant and pest and disease free. They also don’t require pruning after their flowering season as the seed pods they produce look attractive on their own, so they can continue creating visual interest even after they’re done flowering!
