A-Frame studio easel Adjustable to a variety of heights & angles 3 legs: 2 stationary front & 1 adjustable back Holds a canvas, pad or board up to 50" high Made using strengthened FSC-certified beechwood Easy to assemble, complete with instructions Our Piccadilly studio easel is a classic lyre style A-Frame made using strengthened beechwood & held tightly with steel fitting for additional stability.  Able to easily hold a canvas, board or pad up to 50" in height, this versatile easel is perfect for use in a studio or home setting.  When not in use, it folds completely flat for easy, compact storage. Able to be heightened or lowered as desired, along with tilting vertically to accommodate a number of art styles, techniques & preferences.  For instance, tilting the easel forward by 10° is ideal for pastel work, allowing for any excess pastel dust to naturally fall away from the surface. Features several ways to adjust: Easily alter the height by raising & lowering the centre mast, using the ratchet height mechanism.  Underneath the lower canvas shelving, pull the loop (or trigger) to lift the mast, releasing it to rest upon one of the pronounced levels when appropriate. The upper attachment moves seamlessly along the centre mast also, sandwiching & gripping any canvas tightly.  Simply loosen & tighten this into position using the ergonomically designed knob on the front. The rear leg can be tilted to a wide variety of angles, simply using the butterfly clips visible on the back. Dimensions:  88.9 x 66 x 159cm / 35 x 26 62" Maximum Height:  226cm / 89" Weight: 7.48kg

Daler-Rowney - Cotswold Studio Easel

Daler-Rowney - Cotswold Studio Easel

Cotswold Studio easel is complete with a premium beechwood finish Tilting facility for a variety of angles Adjustable height Holds max. canvas height of 127 cm Weight: 10.5 kg Video: Daler-Rowney Easels Range Constructed from premium oiled beechwood, Daler-Rowney's Cotswold Studio Easel is designed to provide a substantial framework for the artist. Offering a range of canvas positions, this easel can be titled forwards and backwards, in addition to being adjustable in height. Why use an Easel? Many artists prefer to use an easel because it enables them to work more freely, and to step back and view artwork from a distance. Working in a vertical position reduces the possibility of perspective being skewed, prevents dust gathering on slow-drying media, and the build up of loose pastel, chalk or charcoal sitting on the support. Why choose Daler-Rowney Cotswold Studio Easel? Easily self-assembled, using the five Allen screws and key provided, the Daler-Rowney Cotswold Easel may be transported without difficulty. A sturdy A-frame design, this easel features a metal ratchet, which allows the artist to adjust its position to an optimal working height. What are the dimensions of Daler-Rowney Cotswold Studio Easel? Standing at a height of 174cm, the Cotswold Studio Easel extends to a maximum height of 267cm, and weighs 10.5kg. Able to accommodate a canvas or board up to 127cm in height, this easel has a width of 64cm and depth of 16.5cm. How do I use an easel? The following videos give further information on using an easel: Starting To Draw: Using An Easel What types of Easel are available? Who are Daler-Rowney? Established in 1783, by Richard and Thomas Rowney, Daler-Rowney has been manufacturing the finest art materials for over 230 years. In 1963, Rowney became the first manufacturer in Europe to introduce artists' acrylic colour.  Widely used by artists, including well-known proponents Peter Blake and Bridget Riley, throughout the 1960s and 1970s, Rowney's "Cryla" heralded a new era in art practice, which became known as 'Pop Art'. In 1983, the Daler Board Company purchased the George Rowney Company, forming Daler-Rowney Limited, as the company is known today.  Daler-Rowney now operates from three manufacturing bases, two in the UK and one in the Dominican Republic, where their artists' brushes are made.

Blackwing - Palomino Starting Point Set

A perfect introduction to these iconic, timeless pencils!* Includes 4 pencils, 1 from each core range (Matte, Pearl, Natural & 602) "One-Step Long Point Sharpener", for extra fine points 1 pack of 10 black replacement erasers The perfect set to introduce any newcomer to Blackwing pencils. The 4 pencils included feature soft, balanced, firm & extra-firm graphite cores, providing a taste of all the possibilities afforded with Blackwing. The "One-Step Long Point" sharpener easily creates a long, curved point that's able to effectively resist breakage. And finally, the pack of 10 erasers included ensure that your pencils are always functional, no matter what! About Blackwing Pencils Originally introduced in the 1930s, Blackwing pencils very quickly gained a cult following amongst creatives, with notable examples including author John Steinbeck & cartoonist Chuck Jones (who proudly used them to create Bugs Bunny & other Looney Tunes characters). Despite this, due to cost-cutting measures, these were discontinued in the 90s... however, this only lead the truly devoted to head online & spend upwards of $40 a pencil!  Then in 2010, due to the obvious immense customer demand, they were brought back into circulation for the modern generation. And now, here at Cowling & Wilcox, you can experience these legendary pencils for yourself & find out why people have been so desperate to get their hands on them! So what makes them so unique anyway?! Of course, the design is timeless but there are several features that separate these from other pencils! To begin with, each pencil is made using genuine incense-cedar wood & finished with several layers of lacquer, making them ideal for use anywhere, including the studio, home & out in the field. Encased in this reinforced wood is a premium Japanese graphite, carefully blended & crafted using clay for strength & wax for a smooth, comfortable finish. And finally, all Blackwing pencils feature an iconic, rectangular ferrule. This allows for the eraser to be extended & ultimately replaced when necessary, ensuring the pencil is always functional, no matter how much it's used! Replacement erasers are available in several colours, to make your Blackwing as unique as yourself!

Schmincke - HORADAM Naturals Mineral Pigment Set (5 x 15ml)

Size: 15ml Colours: 5* 100% vegan watercolours Set includes 5 unique colours Made using natural earth pigments Highly lightfast with a matt finish Tougher & more controllable, similar to a gouache *please view below Developed & thoroughly tested for quality, stability, reliability & lightfastness, HORADAM Naturals are an eco-conscious & 100% vegan range of artist-quality watercolours. Specially formulated using natural pigments, resins & extracts, their palette of 16 beautiful shades apply semi-transparent & dry to a smooth, attractive matt finish. Sharing traits of both watercolour & gouache for a consistency unique to the HORADAM Naturals, it's highly recommended to experiment & familiarise yourself with the range first. For instance, natural pigments are coarser in texture, which produces a rougher granulation effect more typical of a watercolour. However, their more viscous consistency allows for additional control, comparable to gouache. Some colours, such as Curcuma and Stil de Grain, have similar characteristics to watercolours & high glazing properties, offering a wide range of colours. While Curcuma enables yellow to orange colour strokes, Stil de Grain has a yellow-green to greenish-brown colour. Contents Celadonite 530 Yellow Ochre 620 Lalvarit Violet 650 Caucasus Earth 680 Green Slate 720 Please be aware, each colour may have a delicate fragrance & slight shade variations within different batches. This is not a quality defect, but properties brought about through the use of naturally occurring pigments.

Arches - Aquarelle Rough Watercolour Block 20 x 14"

Finish: Rough Sheets: 20 Rough watercolour block Available in several sizes & finishes Includes 20 sheets gummed on 4 sides Traditionally made on a cylinder mould using 100% cotton Sized to the core with natural gelatin, a process exclusive to ARCHES Ideal for all wet techniques including watercolour, acrylic, gouache and ink Available in several sizes, these Rough Aquarelle blocks from ARCHES provide a professional-quality surface with an exceedingly textured finish. Gummed on 4 sides, each block includes 20 sheets of traditionally made watercolour paper ideal for all wet techniques including watercolour, acrylic, gouache or ink. Each sheet has an authentic ARCHES watermark, which becomes visible when held up to light (note, there will be less pulp in this area). Made using 100% long cotton fibre on a slow turning cylinder mould, enabling even distribution & spread of fibres for a professional-quality paper that slackens uniformly when wet, offering the artist greater control.  This process produces paper with high grammage & exceptional strength, especially when they are gelatin sized to the core. ARCHES is the only paper mill in the world to gelatin size its watercolour paper "to the core", preserving the lustre & transparency of colours whilst preventing paint from penetrating into the paper itself.  This allows for superposing of washes, provides additional resistance to tearing & increased absorption of water with limited deformation.
