It's incredibly versatile. Use it to paint, pour, glaze or print on almost any surface. It's ideal for fine line details, and its smooth, creamy consistency retains little or no brush marks. Video: Discover The Differences Between Liquitex Professional Soft & Heavy Body A Brand New Design When you're working, your tools need to work for you. Soft Body's brand new ergonomic bottle and clear labelling have been designed in collaboration with artists, to help create the perfect format. It's fully reusable and recyclable - and not a drop of paint will go to waste. Each squeezable bottle is stackable either way up with an easy-open and close lid. The screw-off top reveals an extra-wide neck for easy access. There are no shoulders or corners to trap paint, allowing you to use every last drop. What's more, you can also used the tapered nozzle with a choice of cut marks to tailor your pour exactly how you like it. Versatility If you had to choose one paint then this would be the one you'd get most out of. Soft Body suits a wide range of techniques and applications. It loves almost any surface and dries flexibly and quickly for easy layering and masking. Want something new? Use a professional medium to change its character further. The Formula If you thought Soft Body was just a watered-down Heavy Body, you'd be wrong. This flowing low viscosity formula was in fact created first and actually gives triple the coverage area of Heavy Body. The two paints have compatible binders and pack the same high pigment load. But if you thin Heavy Body with water or mediums, you reduce concentration and get noticeably weaker colours. Paint feel, performance and stability are also impacted, so choose the right consistency of paint for the job. Surfaces If it sticks to it, you can use it. You can use Soft Body on stretched canvas, photo paper, plaster, brick, clay, pottery, paper, board, wood, fabric and glass. Archival On a client's wall. In a gallery. Your work needs to stay as you intended. As with all Liquitex products, the pigments in Soft Body have passed extensive tests for lightfastness. Each pigment is rated according to the American Society for Testing & Materials (ASTM), and Liquitex only use pigments rated ASTM I or II*. This means your work will have the greatest archival permanence possible – at least 50 years+ in gallery conditions – with no colour shifting or fading, to stay vibrant and true. *Some pigments, such as fluorescents, are not rated Why choose Liquitex Professional Soft Body Acrylic? Available in sets or individually in 59ml tubes, the Liquitex Soft Body Acrylic range boasts a varied spectrum of 100 colours, providing the artist with a broad mixing palette. Blog Post: Infinite Intermixability With Liquitex Acrylic Who are Liquitex? Founded in 1933 by Henry Levison, Permanent Pigments, an oil colour producing company from Cincinnati, Ohio developed the first water-based artist acrylic paints. Their new formulation was launched in 1955, under the new company name Liquitex, an abbreviation of "Liquid texture", which Levison believed better captured the product's essence. Today, Liquitex offers a vast array of intermixable vibrant acrylic paints and mediums, enabling artists to continually explore new and innovative ways of working with Acrylic Colour. What is Acrylic paint? Fast-drying and water based, Acrylic paint is comprised of a pigment suspended in an acrylic co-polymer binder. This is then applied to a support such as a canvas. The pigment fixes to the support upon evaporation of the water, producing a slight colour change in the process. Acrylic paint dries to a water-resistant, flexible finish, making it the ideal medium for a number of craft purposes including screen printing and model making. All colours can be thinned with water to pale washes, or used directly from the pot or tube. The quick drying properties of the range enable the artist to work speedily, and a hairdryer may be used to further accelerate the drying process.  All Liquitex Soft Body colours are fully intermixable and suitable for interior and exterior use, ideal for all art and craft projects. Different textures and effects can be created with these acrylic paints by adding a medium such as Super Heavy Gel or Glass Beads.  Once completed and dry, a thin layer of varnish may be applied, to protect and prese
