Finerfilters 20" GAC/KDF Water Filter Cartridge Filter cartridge with activated coconut shell carbon and non-woven polypropylene material, removes chlorine and organic compounds (KDF filtration). Will fit any standard size 20" housing. Suitable for aquatic and domestic use. Good replacement for GAC filters as additional KDF media removes more contaminants such as heavy metals. KDF process media works to reduce or remove chlorine, iron, hydrogen sulphide, lead, mercury, calcium carbonate, magnesium, chromium, bacteria, algae and fungi. Media removes up to 98% of water-soluble cations (positively-charged ions) of lead, mercury, copper, nickel, chromium and other dissolved metals. In most cases, more than 98% of chlorine is removed if operated within recommended flow rates. Ensure the water is flushed through for 5 minutes to clear any loose particles and carbon fines. Do not use with water which is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality. Use in cold water applications only. Contains NSF Certified KDF and coconut based granular activated carbon.

The activated coconut carbon inside the filter is super absorbent and is designed to remove chlorine odour and taste from the water. KDF water filter media extends the life of granular activated carbon (GAC) while protecting the carbon bed against fouling by bacterial growth. An ideal filter in a whole house system, pond de-chlorinator or other aquatic uses. This filter has bacteriostatic properties in addition to effectively removing chlorine, lead, arsenic, cadmium and other contaminants that may be present in the water. This cartridge is designed to fit into the Finerfilters 10" Jumbo Water Filter Housing, which you can find below in the “you may also like section". However, this cartridge is not exclusive to our Finerfilters’ housing and can be used in any 10" jumbo system. Cartridge life span: 6 months, depending on application and incoming water quality. Adding a pre filter before this cartridge, such as a sediment filter will increase the lifespan.

Pentek CHLORPLUS 10" Carbon Block Filter This Pentek ChlorPlus 10 carbon block filter cartridge reduces chlorine and chloramine in residential and commercial drinking water. It has nominal filtration rating of 1 micron at an efficiency of 85%. The cartridge is made of bonded powdered activated carbon (PAC) media with a polyolefin core and shell and polyethylene outer netting. A Santoprene gasket provides a watertight seal. The filter will reduce free available chlorine (FAC) at 2 parts per million (ppm) by at least 75% in up to 50,000 gallons at a flow rate of 1 gallon per minute (gpm), and reduce 3 ppm chloramines by at least 75% in up to 1,000 gallons at a flow rate of 1 gpm. The filter has an initial pressure drop of 6 pounds per square inch (psi) at a recommended flow rate of 1 gpm, and operates over a temperature range of 40°F - 180°F (4.4°C to 82°C). This carbon block filter cartridge is used for treatment of residential and commercial drinking water.
