Cherry Plum 'Pissardii' (Prunus Cerasifera 'Pissardii') - Standard
This highly ornamental medium-sized, round-headed deciduous tree, produces deep blackish-purple leaves and twigs which do not fade in summer. The bright pink flowers open in bunches on the previous year’s branches, filling the crown of the tree into a beautiful pink cloud.
In late summer you can harvest the small red edible fruit. “Pissardii” benefits well to pruning after flowering to keep growth under control. Due to its size it is well suited to the small garden and is often used as a street tree as it is also very tolerant to pollution.
