Robust and popular, Privet Hedging is an evergreen treat, introducing excellent foliage colour to your garden regardless of the month.Ideal for topiary and hedging, these golden 'Aureum' plants set themselves apart from typical green varieties, with glossy green leaves edged in golden yellow. Easy and reliable, privet is fairly quick growing, soon forming a good-sized hedge that grows virtually anywhere, from sun to shade.Leave untrimmed to see creamy clusters of fragrant summertime flowers, which pollinators will adore, and will be soon followed by glossy black berries. Small, densely packed leaves are easily trimmed to shape so are ideal for different shapes and sizes of hedge - trim it a couple of times in summer to encourage density.Privet plants grow well virtually anywhere, aside from overly wet soil, and are even suited to coastal spots.
