Either version would be enjoyable and rewarding additions to a church choir’s modern liturgical repertoire, or indeed concert repertoire of all choirs.

In the beauty way

The music reflects a Native American influence, though it does not employ authentic native musical elements. A simple, heartfelt text is set in repetitive, chant-like phrases, uncluttered textures, an intoned Navajo prayer, and a soaring melody in the children's voices.

Like the other arrangements in the CoolSide of Yuletide series, this arrangement incorporates elements of Jazz, Gospel, R&B, funk, and altered harmonies.

The pieces help reinforce basic elements of technique, rhythm and fingering patterns ranging from pieces for beginners - intermediate players.The edition is part of the Trinity syllabus 2007 (grade 2)

Hebrides Suite : Quarter Military Band QMB 314

Representing the folk music of the Hebrides Islands, located off the western coast of Scotland, this beautifully orchestrated 4-movement suite was first published in 1962. One of Clare Grundman's most performed and enduringclassic works for band, this certainly deserves consideration for contest and festival programming. (Grade 4)

Four Piano Blues

Aaron Copland's Four Piano Blues is a collection of four short works for solo Piano which intergrates different elements of various jazz and blues idioms. Though the pieces were published together as a set in 1949, thepiece were written at separate times, and each dedicated to different friends of Copland.

My days are gone like a shadow

My Days are Gone relies for its expression on the text on a contrast of major triads and minor seconds and open quartal and quintal structures. With occasional sections of imitation, it contrasts imitative texture with that of homophony. This is a text that cries for help and is expressed through these elements.
