6 Little Pieces Op. 133

The 6 Little Pieces Op. 133 composed in 2007 are, after his Sonatina op. 100 (Schott, ED 22853), Kapustin's easiest works for piano. The pieces can be played individually, the intervals are all within the octave range and allowyounger pianists to discover the jazz-idiomatic world of Kapustin.

Cosmogonie : Symphonic Fresco On Genesis 1:1-31

Cosmogonie was written after an improvisation of the composer at the Haarlem International Organ Improvisation Competition, Rotterdam 1981. The given theme was an abstract graphic by Enrique Raxach. The result is an evocation ofthe opening verses of the Genesis.

3 Little Sonatas

Louis Drouet (1792-1873), much admired virtuoso Flautist, composer, musical director and opera director, was 'a Flautist of truly European standing and sphere of influence'. His method still forms part of today'sstandard teaching repertoire. The 'Little Sonatas' published here for the first time as a separate new edition constitute the final part of Part 3 of his method. In accordance with the remarks ofDrouet who had two different performance versions in mind, the sonatas are available in two instrumentations: for two Flutes and for Flute and Piano. The Piano accompaniment, with its figured bass realized byGottfriedBach, has been turned into a harmonic accompaniment.

Easy Fugues With Little Pieces

Telemann published these pieces in 1737 with the title Galanterie-Fugen und Kleine Stücke für Klavier. Each fugue is followed by three or four brief dance movements in the same (or a related) key, and they are intended to beplayed like a suite. The volume also contains six little suites particularly suitable for teaching. Based on a copy of the first edition in the Conservatoire Royale de Musique in Brussels.

Louis Drouet (1792-1873) was a significant European flautist of his time. Born in Amsterdam, Drouet was a performer, composer, and conductor. These Three Little Sonatas are drawn from the end of the third section of Drouet'sMethod. With notes on the sources. A pianist would not need to be terribly advanced to perform these parts, making these pieces practical choices for studio recitals and solo competitions...Schott's edition comes with awell-written preface that helpfully places the pieces in history and explains corrections made to the urtext.
