Heroin returns to the Middle Kingdom to avenge the murdered members of the brotherhood. Like other Assassin's Creed games, the title allows you to visit famous places where the Great Wall, Forbidden City and Beijing shine. Historical figures also play a role in the plot. Gameplay Although the gameplay in Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China was based on the standard scheme for the series, its assumptions were adapted to the specifics of this position. The protagonist can therefore resist opponents in direct clashes (making perfect use of the hidden blade she hides in one of her shoes, as well as the jian sword), but this time stealth aspects play a much more important role. The title puts more emphasis on staying hidden - avoiding contact with adversaries and sneaking behind their backs is a bonus. Various gadgets that are at Shao's disposal (among others, arrows that distract enemies), as well as her acrobatic abilities supplemented by a rope with a hook, turn out to be helpful. There is also the possibility of climbing the elements of the surroundings. Interestingly, despite the fact that most of the time we are limited to one plane, in selected places we can travel between the first and more distant planes, thus gaining access to new locations.

The 3D engine created for the game allows you to show all the details with remarkable accuracy. Up to 40 elements can be damaged in each of the planes, and the method of imaging the damage has also been improved: now the damage appears exactly in the place where the shells hit. The factor that connects all these characters is a kind dog, which has the interesting ability to direct events in people's lives on the right track and a desire to return to normal life as soon as possible. The story takes place over the years 1914-1918, and the individual stages take place in different chronological periods. Interestingly, the plot is heavily based on authentic letters from soldiers from World War I.  The nature of the game depends to a large extent on the character you control at the moment. The game therefore offers both dexterity and those in which we have to strain gray cells. In addition to the sequences that require fast and efficient movement, there are also more or less complex puzzles to solve, and even scenes straight from stealth, when we pass unnoticed by our opponents, distracting them with thrown stones. Exploration elements have also been implemented, moreover, we can often count on the company of the aforementioned four-legged friend to help us.  When creating this title, the UbiArt Framework engine was used (known for example from the aforementioned Rayman games), so we are dealing here with a very aesthetic and atmospheric visual setting, reminiscent of a comic book. Despite the fact that the story told in Valiant Hearts is extremely sad, the developer made sure that the production could also bring a smile to our faces. The main mean of transportation is a boat, the Jackdaw, used to travel between the scattered isles of the Caribbean, but when on land, the player travels using his own feet. It is possible to use the fast travel system to quickly jump between previously visited locations. Similarly to other titles in the franchise, the controlled character is able to easily climb the buildings and perform other parkour-like moves. The game offers many weapons to choose from and allows to hunt the animals lurking in the wilds. The game focuses on a single player, but it also features a multiplayer mode for those seeking even more hours of gameplay after finishing the main storyline. Multiplayer is further split into multiple modes: manhunt, artifact assault, domination, deathmatch, wanted, and assassinate. Reception AC IV received very positive reviews and was generally considered a direct upgrade from Assassin’s Creed III, from which the game took some working mechanics and polished them to the limits while throwing in some of the new ones to the mix. The naval setting, around which the whole game revolves, turned out to be the strongest point of the entire title.
